2CV Restoration - Cars for sale

These are the finest examples of the Deux Chevaux, low mileage, superb mechanicals, no rust, legal in USA, located in the States, no extra shipping costs from Europe, no import fees, no importation costs.
Since the cars are already in the US you can see and drive the car before you buy. No gambling with sending money to unknown overseas people who promise to send you a perfect car.
Experience shows that there are not too many good 2CVs left. Almost all cars that have been used in Europe need an extensive restoration job; even if the car looks nice from the outside, inside and under it is mostly plain disaster. When you get such an un-restored (or quick and dirty repaired) car you have to do extensive and very expensive restoration work. By the time the car is in a good condition you spent more money than buying a GOOD restored car from us ( See buyers guide).
A good restoration takes a few hundred hours of patient work and the use of expensive material. The seller can make a better profit if this work isn't done. To prove our good and honest work we supply detailed photos of every restoration.

All our cars come with a new frame! ( See) The cars get a new main copper-nickel brake line ( See). All rust is removed during the restoration. All mechanic parts i.e. motor, transmission, driving gear, brakes and suspension are either restored or still in good condition. All cars come with a disc brake system.
Typically the restored cars get a new brake system, new shocks, new king pins and steering levers, restored drive shafts with new boots, new tires, a new muffler system, new bumpers, a new roof, new special carpets, license plate holders. ( See)
We really remove rust by CUTTING OUT the infected parts, ( See) not just covering up the mess with a repair panel!
To save the car from its biggest enemy - rust - all cars we restore get a new rubber based undercoat ( See) and a special grease and oil rust protection! ( See)
Of course all our cars get all maintenance work including new points and spark plugs, fresh oil and a new oil filter, fresh brake- and transmission fluid, the valves are adjusted.

Great daily driver, beige 2CV6

The current owner just bought a nicely restored 2CV from us. His garage however has only space for one 2CV, and he doesn't want to leave one of his 2CVs out in the street. That means the older 2CV has to go.

Very rare 2CV Hoffmann Convertible

In 2006, the current owner bought this 2CV Hoffmann Convertible from us. Then the car had only original 9100 km (5655 mi). The owner had another 2CV as a daily driver, the Hoffmann Convertible was the collectors item and kept garaged. So only a very few miles were added in the following years. Unfortunately her daily driver 2CV was destroyed in an accident. So the Hofmann Convertible is currently used as her daily driver, but still always kept garaged. The owner however would like to get another standard 2CV as the daily driver again. So this rare Hoffmann Convertible is now up for sale.

When I first bought it, it had a rusted frame and the usual rust on the floorpanels. So I replaced all the rust damaged panels and installed a new frame. This was almost exactly 10 years ago. (Click here for a slide show of the restoration back then). The new owner pampered it and always kept it garaged. In all these years he hardly drove the 2CV. This lead him to the decision to sell this nice 2CV. He contacted me and I bought it back - knowing about the great condition the car is in. The 2CV got an entirely new muffler system and new Mabor tires. I've serviced the motor and transmission, replaced old rubber seals that started leaking, or might start to leak later. The clutch was replaced and the brakes were overworked. All fluids are new, all maintenance work was done. Bottom line, this 2CV is not a showroom condition vehicle, but a very presentable and very reliable daily driver. Like all our 2CVs, the car is turnkey, a perfect daily driver. It was driven only one year before it was upgraded into the Hoffmann Convertible by the master Wolfgang Hoffmann himself. Since then the little car was on a temporary license that was only good for June and July. The longest time of the year the car was stored in a nice garage together with some other fine 2CVs. The original (!) mileage is 10,560 mi (17,000 km)

This New Old Stock 2CV was kept garaged as a collectors item since purchased new from Citroen. The original mileage is 97 km, 60 miles. Everything is as it came from the factory. See the preliminary photos from the pickup. I want to point out, that the car wasn't even washed for the photos. You can see it as we found it. Watch the movies about the first start when a battery was connected and the 2CV rolled off the trailer on its own power (140MB).
