2CV Restoration - Cars for sale

These are the finest examples of the Deux Chevaux, low mileage, superb mechanicals, no rust, legal in USA, located in the States, no extra shipping costs from Europe, no import fees, no importation costs.
Since the cars are already in the US you can see and drive the car before you buy. No gambling with sending money to unknown overseas people who promise to send you a perfect car.
Experience shows that there are not too many good 2CVs left. Almost all cars that have been used in Europe need an extensive restoration job; even if the car looks nice from the outside, inside and under it is mostly plain disaster. When you get such an un-restored (or quick and dirty repaired) car you have to do extensive and very expensive restoration work. By the time the car is in a good condition you spent more money than buying a GOOD restored car from us ( See buyers guide).
A good restoration takes a few hundred hours of patient work and the use of expensive material. The seller can make a better profit if this work isn't done. To prove our good and honest work we supply detailed photos of every restoration.

All our cars come with a new frame! ( See) The cars get a new main copper-nickel brake line ( See). All rust is removed during the restoration. All mechanic parts i.e. motor, transmission, driving gear, brakes and suspension are either restored or still in good condition. All cars come with a disc brake system.
Typically the restored cars get a new brake system, new shocks, new king pins and steering levers, restored drive shafts with new boots, new tires, a new muffler system, new bumpers, a new roof, new special carpets, license plate holders. ( See)
We really remove rust by CUTTING OUT the infected parts, ( See) not just covering up the mess with a repair panel!
To save the car from its biggest enemy - rust - all cars we restore get a new rubber based undercoat ( See) and a special grease and oil rust protection! ( See)
Of course all our cars get all maintenance work including new points and spark plugs, fresh oil and a new oil filter, fresh brake- and transmission fluid, the valves are adjusted.

We got the 2CV as an unfinished restoration project. Someone had started a restoration but didn't finish. The car was in bits and pieces, and the main job that already had been done was the paintjob. The 2CV used to be a yellow and black Charleston before, and was repainted as such. I completed the car and did the major part of the restoration. So mechanically it is in great condition. The person who did the paintjob had professional equipment (Paint Booth) available, but isn't a professional painter. So the result is ok but not perfect. From a few feet away, the car looks very nice. But when you look up close, you will find some imperfections - which make the car significantly cheaper. If the paintjob would be as perfect as the mechanical restoration, the car would be in our high end price segment.	More details

This car is in original condition. It was driven only one year before it was upgraded into the Hoffmann Convertible by the master Wolfgang Hoffmann himself. This 2CV makes a great daily driver - it has always been. Like most 2CVs in Europe, this car was once purchased to be used. After some years of use, the inevitable happened - the frame was rusted and the paint was oxidized. However, the car was in too good shape just to be trashed. The previous owner decided to restore the 2CV in a full-scale body off restoration. The frame was replaced and the rust removed. When it came to paint the car, he used a light blue color, which was left over from the restoration of his DS. So this 2CV is painted in an original Citroën DS color. When the current owner decided to sell it, he had it shipped to me, so I can get it back into the great condition it was in when he bought it. Now the car is located in Seattle. Like all our 2CVs, the car is turnkey, a perfect daily driver. The original mileage is 74300 km (46440 mi)

This New Old Stock 2CV was kept garaged as a collectors item since purchased new from Citroen. The original mileage is 97 km, 60 miles. Everything is as it came from the factory. See the preliminary photos from the pickup. I want to point out, that the car wasn't even washed for the photos. You can see it as we found it. Watch the movies about the first start when a battery was connected and the 2CV rolled off the trailer on its own power (140MB). The second movie is a walk-around, which shows you the breathtaking condition.

The car is in an absolute original and unrestored condition like right out of the showroom. The paint is original and shiny as if it came directly from the factory. The 2CV was always kept garaged and only driven very occasionally in summer. Earlier last fall, Griot's Garage asked us for a perfect 2CV in showroom condition to use for photos for their new catalog. So in December, the 2CV was used in a photo shoot for the new Griot's Garage Catalog. It will be featured on the front page in the spring catalog. This is a big honor for a 2CV. Griot's motto is "Car Care for the Perfectionist". Subsequently the list of vehicles they normally feature in their catalog, reads like the Who is Who of classic cars. The second owner was a fellow 2CV Club president in Germany. He had this 2CV as his personal collectors vehicle. From when he bought the 2CV, and when I purchased it from him, the 2CV was only driven 24 km. He had stored it in a barn. So the engine compartment was all dusty. I cleaned and detailled the entire engine compartment to a showroom condition, much better than new. Rubber dust boots, engine seals, rubber fuel lines were replaced. A new battery was installed, the calipers overhauled and new brake pads fitted. Needless to say that all fluids were changed, a new oil filter fitted and all maintenance work was done. So this 2CV is turnkey. The original (!) mileage is 10,820 mi (17,310 km)
